Nurse / Medical Assistant

Job Summary

The Nurse in a private clinic provides high-quality patient care under the direction of physicians or advanced practice providers, ensuring efficient clinical operations and a positive patient experience. The role involves performing clinical tasks, such as administering treatments and medications, and may include some administrative duties, such as patient education and record-keeping. The Nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a private clinic environment.

Salary:

RM 2,000- RM4,000 (Depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Patient Assessment: Conduct initial patient assessments, including taking vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature), reviewing medical histories, and documenting symptoms.
• Treatment and Procedures: Administer medications, injections, and IV therapies as prescribed; perform wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures within the scope of practice.
• Assisting Providers: Support physicians or other providers during examinations, minor procedures. Diagnostic Support: Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine) and coordinate with labs for testing; perform or assist with diagnostic tests like ECG or spirometry.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication instructions, disease management, and preventive care, ensuring clear understanding.
• Care Coordination: Facilitate referrals to specialists, coordinate diagnostic tests, and follow up on patient care plans.

Administrative Duties

• Scheduling and Communication: Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments, communicating test results to patients (as directed), and managing patient inquiries.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and restocI‹ medical supplies, ensuring availability of necessary equipment and medications.
• Compliance:Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and clinic
  policies
  to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Other Responsibilities

• Collaborate with medical assistants, physicians, and other staff to streamline clinic workflows and enhance patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training as needed.
• Stay current with continuing education requirements and maintain licensure and certifications.

Qualifications

Education:

- For RN: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

- For LPN: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.

- Licensure/Certification:

- Active and unrestricted RN or LPN license in the state of practice.

-Experience: Prior experience in a clinic, outpatient, or similar healthcare setting preferred but not always required for entry-level roles.

- Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in administering medications, IVs, and performing procedures.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal ski(ls to interact with patients, families, and staff.

- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical protocols, and infection control standards.

- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

- Work is performed in a private clinic, with possible shift work

- Exposure to patients with infectious diseases; strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols is required.

- Fast-paced environment with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.

- Expected to participate and be involved in medical events organized by the clinic, including those conducted outside the clinic premises.
