Coffee Roaster

WYLD Group is a growing multi-brand F&B group behind well-loved concepts such as cafés, bakeries, bars and restaurants. After more than 12 years of crafting exceptional coffee experiences, we are expanding into our own roastery. Yeah~ a long-awaited milestone for the Group. We are now entering the researching, sourcing, and profiling stage, followed soon by setup and commissioning. This is a rare opportunity to join from Day One and shape the future of WYLD Group's coffee program.

We are looking for a Coffee Roaster / Roasting Lead who can take charge of roast development, green bean evaluation, production planning, and long-term roasting strategy. You will work closely with our leadership, bar team, and central production team to design our roasting philosophy, influence product direction, and set quality standards for the entire Group.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both craft + systems, and is excited to grow with a brand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute roasting sessions based on R&D, pilot testing, and production needs.
• Develop, refine, and maintain roasting profiles that reflect the WYLD Group flavor direction.
• Ensure consistency, flavor integrity, and quality from sample roast to full-batch production.
• Perform cupping, sensory evaluation, and collaborate on coffee scoring and sourcing decisions.
• Support green bean sourcing with feedback, sample evaluations, and roasting insights.
• Work on new blends, seasonal releases, and limited-run coffees.
• Contribute ideas for future signatures, collaborations, and brand-forward coffee products.
• Continuously experiment and refine the Group's coffee portfolio based on data and sensory feedback.
• Oversee and monitor the roasting environment, production workflow, and equipment performance.
• Perform regular maintenance and coordinate service, calibration, and repairs when needed.
• Implement SOPs for roasting, batching, packing, and inventory flow once the roastery is live.
• Support in designing efficient production and inventory systems for scaling.
• Work closely with baristas, outlet managers, and trainers to ensure brew consistency across all outlets.
• Provide feedback and assist in internal training, sensory development, and bar coffee education.
• Support the setup phase of the roastery, including layout, process flow, and equipment evaluation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–3 years specialty coffee roasting experience (production or R&D).
• Strong sensory, cupping, and coffee evaluation skills.
• Good understanding of green coffee sourcing, processing methods, and post-harvest profiles.
• Experience with roasting software and data logging systems.
• Solid grasp of roasting theory, thermodynamics, and profile manipulation.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
• Able to adapt to a fast-growing environment, especially in a pre-opening phase.
• Familiarity with production, scheduling, or inventory systems is a plus.
• Experience participating in setup of a new roastery.
• Leadership or team-training experience.
• Interest in blend creation, R&D, or long-term product strategy.
