Carer cum General Worker

Carer Duties:

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, bathing, toileting and feeding
• Maintain cleanliness of assisted living, bathrooms and common areas
• Help residents with mobility, transfers and comfort positioning
• Support nurses by reporting changes in residents' condition
• Accompany residents to hospital / clinic appointment when required
• Follow infection control and safety procedures
• General nursing care & personal hygiene - Nurse (lead); Carer provides direct help under nurse supervision
• Admission / transfer / discharge - Nurse (lead); Carer with logistics
• Serve meals & help feed
• Administer medication - Staff Nurse only
• Monitoring / reporting / recording symptoms - Carer records basic observations and reports
• Check toilets / bathrooms cleanliness - Carer
• Supervise carer
• Maintain healthcare records / reports - Carer completes beside care logs as delegated
• Assist locum doctor / dentist - Staff and Carer prepares / accompanies
• Arrange GH / KK appointments - Staff and admin support if necessary
• Accompany to GH / KK
• Submit / collect prescriptions - delegated admin under nurse oversight
• Deal with seniors with varying ailments - Both (clinical decisions by nurses)
• Recognize emergency & act - Staff Nurse (lead); Carer must alert nurse immediately and follow emergency instructions
• Bathing / changing pampers - Carer (lead); nurse handles complex cases
• Sweep and mop the floor (both assisted living area, back assisted living and Rehab Centre)
• Wash the bowls and plates, soiled linen, change bed sheet
• Supports residents mobility - transfering from bed to wheelchair and repositioning in bed

General Work Duties:

• Maintain gardens, grounds and outdoor areas (watering, tree / plant trimming, cleaning weeds, grass cutting)
• Collect and dispose of garden waste, leaves and rubbish appropriately
• Cleans the compound of the Home as directed by the superior
• Report low stock of gardening tools, equipment or supplies to the superior
