REQUIREMENTS

●      Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) specialising in Malay Language or Language and Literature.

●      Minimum 5  years teaching experience in Bahasa Melayu at primary and secondary level.

●      Experienced teaching in an international school setting is an advantage.

●      Strong command of Bahasa Melayu and English.

●      Ability to design creative, engaging lessons suitable for young learners.

●      Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.

●      Passion for teaching and a commitment to student well-being and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

●      Plan and deliver high-quality Bahasa Melayu lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning standards.

●      Use a variety of teaching strategies to support students of mixed abilities, including EAL learners.

●      Prepare age-appropriate learning materials, resources, and assessments.

●      Integrate technology, interactive activities, and cultural elements to enhance learning.

●      Monitor, assess, and provide timely feedback on students' progress.

Classroom Management

●      Maintain a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment.

●      Establish clear routines and expectations to support learning.

●      Manage student behaviour positively and effectively according to school policies.

●      Conduct formative and summative assessments to track progress.

●      Record and analyse student performance data.

●      Prepare progress reports and communicate clearly with parents during conferences or meetings.

●      Provide additional support or intervention for students who require extra help.

●      Encourage confidence, creativity, and a love for the Malay language.

●      Promote cultural understanding through language-based activities and events.

●      Participate in planning meetings, department discussions, and whole-school initiatives.

●      Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum consistency and cross-curricular integration.

●      Attend professional development sessions to continuously improve teaching skills.

●      Support school events, celebrations, and co-curricular activities upon request.
