About the role

Uncanny Tech Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and experienced ELV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of ELV systems, including security, communication, and automation technologies. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain various ELV systems, such as CCTV surveillance, access control, fire alarm, public address (PA), and intercom systems.
  • Perform all necessary cabling, wiring, termination, and hardware installations according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct testing, commissioning, and system programming for new installations and upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and system malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on existing ELV systems.
  • Interpret and work from schematic diagrams, wiring layouts, and technical manuals.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients or end-users when required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety procedures, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installation and maintenance activities, including service reports and fault logs.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience as an ELV Technician, or in a similar role involving low-voltage systems.
  • A Diploma or relevant technical certification in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and structured cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with relevant tools and testing equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
