Graphic Designer (Book Layout & Publishing)

Company Overview:

We are a Malaysia-based publishing company specialising in producing school textbooks and educational materials across various subjects for primary and secondary levels.

Job Description:

We're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer who is passionate about cover, flyer, and various design work, as well as layout design and visual communication. The role involves creating appealing book layouts, covers, and other related artwork according to project and printing requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and lay out school textbooks, workbooks, and related materials.
  • Create and refine book covers, illustrations, and graphics as needed.
  • Ensure layout consistency and alignment with house design standards.
  • Work closely with editors, illustrators, and the production team to finalise artwork.
  • Prepare print-ready files and perform basic prepress checks.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • At least 1 year of experience in layout or publishing design (fresh graduates with strong portfolios are also encouraged to apply).
  • Good sense of typography, alignment, and visual hierarchy.
  • Able to meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently or as part of a team.

Additional Information:

  • Work Location: Seri Kembangan, Selangor
  • Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Salary Range: RM2,200 – RM3,200 (depending on experience)
  • Overtime and learning opportunities provided.
