Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Science and Psychology, aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and other relevant syllabi.
  • Teach core Psychology topics such as cognitive development, biological psychology, learning, abnormality, and research methods, while also covering essential Science content as required.
  • Design and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, classroom activities, practical experiments, and assessments that foster both theoretical understanding and applied skills.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for IGCSE examinations, ensuring confidence in both knowledge and exam technique.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, technologies, and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment outcomes, and attendance, ensuring accountability and effective monitoring.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and maintain clear communication with parents regarding academic progress and well-being.
  • Promote critical thinking, scientific inquiry, curiosity, and ethical awareness, encouraging students to make connections between psychological theory and real-world issues.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments, exam board requirements, and relevant research in both Science and Psychology.
  • Actively participate in school events, extracurricular activities, parent-teacher meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Psychology or a closely related field (Master's preferred).
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Psychology, preferably at the IGCSE level.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum.
  • Proven track record of student achievement in external exams is an advantage.
