Job Purpose:

To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food under the supervision of senior kitchen staff. The Commis Kitchen plays a key role in maintaining high food quality, hygiene, and safety standards while supporting smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Assist chefs in the preparation of ingredients (cutting, chopping, marinating, portioning, etc.).
  • Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and instructions.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all food items.

2. Hygiene & Food Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations at all times.
  • Follow food hygiene and safety standards .
  • Properly store and label ingredients to prevent contamination and spoilage.
  • Adhere to waste management and portion control procedures.

3. Kitchen Operations Support

  • Assist in receiving, checking, and storing raw materials and ingredients.
  • Ensure all kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and maintained properly.
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.

4. Teamwork & Communication

  • Work closely with senior chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Support colleagues during peak hours to ensure timely food service.
  • Communicate any shortages or quality issues to the Chef de Partie or Supervisor.

5. Continuous Learning & Development

  • Learn and practice new cooking techniques and recipes as guided by senior chefs.
  • Participate in kitchen briefings, meetings, and training sessions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM2,500.00 per month
