Key responsibilities

  • Inventory management:

Record and update inventory transactions, stock products, and ensure items are stored correctly in warehouses or stockrooms.
- Record keeping:

Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking the movement and deletion of items.
- Receiving and shipping:

Inspect incoming shipments for damage and accuracy, and help with loading and unloading stock.
- System and reporting:

Update and maintain inventory management systems and generate reports on stock usage and future needs.
- Returns and issues:

Handle returns of defective products and investigate inventory inaccuracies.
- Coordination:

Work with purchasing, logistics, and other departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of products.

  • Customer and Sales Transactions:

  • Operate cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems to process sales.

  • Scan items, calculate totals, and accept various forms of payment, providing accurate change and receipts.
  • Handle customer returns, exchanges, and inquiries about products and pricing.
  • Bag or wrap purchased items for customers.

  • Administrative and Support:

  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Report any discrepancies in cash or inventory to management.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace and assist with other store duties as needed.
