About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Climate Risk Stress Test Manager to join RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will develop and enhance climate scenario planning and stress testing methodologies with a focus on expected credit losses and capital requirements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, management, and regulators to ensure robust climate risk assessment and reporting across the Group.

What you will be doing

Climate Risk Stress Testing

  • Develop, enhance, and implement climate risk stress testing processes, methodologies, and models.

  • Conduct assessments of climate risk scenarios, translating results into credit risk projections and regulatory capital requirements (RWA and ECL under MFRS9).

  • Simulate and analyze ECL and credit risk capital demand for various credit portfolios.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of stress test results to identify key climate risk drivers.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of climate risk stress testing.

  • Prepare and submit reports on climate risk stress testing results for management, the Board, and regulators.

  • Address regulatory enquiries and reporting requirements related to climate risk stress testing.

Infrastructure and Policy Development

  • Implement and enhance climate risk stress testing infrastructure, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

  • Develop policies, manuals, and documentation related to climate risk stress testing.

  • Support other internal and regulatory stress testing exercises, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory expectations.

What we're looking for

Education and Experience

  • Degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, risk management, or finance.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management and stress testing within a financial institution.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding of Basel IRB models, MFRS9, and stress testing approaches.

  • Strong statistical modeling and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Excel, SAS, Python, or equivalent for data analysis and modeling.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for effective stakeholder communication.

  • Ability to interact professionally with both internal teams and external parties.

  • Experience in ESG or climate-related risk management is preferred.
