Purpose of the Role/Role Overview:

The Steward will be responsible for assisting in the smooth and efficient operation of the catering services within an industrial kitchen environment. This includes maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen and dining areas, washing dishes, ensuring proper storage of supplies, and assisting the catering team as needed. The Steward plays a critical role in supporting the overall operational efficiency and safety of the catering facility.

General /Role Overview:

  • Cleaning and Sanitation:

Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and cookware after each use.

Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen and dining areas (floors, walls, countertops).

Ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures are followed to meet health and safety regulations.

Dispose of waste according to guidelines and ensure waste management procedures are followed.

  • Dishwashing:

Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools using commercial dishwashing equipment.

Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored and organized for use by kitchen staff.

  • Inventory Support:

Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food and cleaning supplies.

Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when supplies are running low.

Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation.

  • Assisting Kitchen and Catering Team:

Support kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, setting up workstations, and assisting with basic food prep when needed.

Help ensure a smooth flow of food orders by assisting the catering team during peak hours.

  • Safety and Compliance:

Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Comply with food safety guidelines, including the handling of food and cleaning chemicals.

Ensure that all cleaning and kitchen equipment is maintained in proper working order.

  • General Housekeeping:

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen storage areas.

Ensure that all equipment, supplies, and utensils are in good working condition.

Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

Requirement :

1. Typhoid vaccine and food handling certificate
