About the Team

The SME Embedded Finance team was established to drive the bank's innovation agenda in digital SME banking. Over the past three years, we have launched a range of innovative solutions that integrate seamlessly into the daily operations of SMEs across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. Our offerings extend beyond traditional financing, encompassing various embedded propositions designed to enhance the overall SME experience. Our team brings together expertise from partnerships, data, risk, product, and commercial functions, united by a common goal: to redefine SME banking through platform thinking and digital-first strategies.

Your Role: VP, SME Embedded Finance Team - Partnerships

We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial individual to drive ecosystem and platform partnerships in Malaysia. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our partner ecosystem growth strategy, building high-impact alliances with digital platforms, anchor corporates, and fintech enablers. Your efforts will be instrumental in embedding our financial solutions into platforms where SMEs operate, transact, and grow—placing our bank at the center of the region's digital economy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive Strategic Partner Acquisition: Identify, structure, and close partnerships with digital platforms, marketplaces, aggregators, and anchor corporates that offer access to large SME networks.

• Develop & Deepen Ecosystem Relationships: Manage and expand existing strategic alliances; work collaboratively to co-create embedded financial offerings that scale.

• Shape the Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, risk, tech, analytics) to develop and refine partnership-led propositions that solve real SME challenges.

• Lead Ecosystem Thinking: Stay on the pulse of regional Embedded Finance trends, regulatory shifts, and ecosystem movements in Malaysia and Southeast Asia; translate insights into actionable strategy.

• Drive Commercial Outcomes: Define partnership KPIs aligned with business growth objectives; track performance and continuously optimize outcomes across acquisition, engagement, and monetization.

• Thought Leadership: Represent the bank in industry engagements and forums to build brand equity in the digital SME ecosystem.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Vice President or equivalent experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or ecosystem development—preferably in fintech, banking, or digital platforms.

• Proven ability to navigate and influence complex ecosystems involving tech platforms, financial services, and SME stakeholders.

• Strong network across technology firms, e-commerce platforms, aggregators, and corporate anchors with SME linkages in Malaysia.

• Excellent strategic thinking and execution skills—able to connect high-level vision with detailed action plans.

• Strong communicator with a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and outcome-driven mindset.

• A self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and fast-moving environments; capable of operating independently while aligned with larger team goals.

• Background in sales leadership or embedded finance propositions is a plus, but not required.

• Preference for candidates to be based in Malaysia, with a deep understanding of the local market landscape.
