Yard Storekeeper

Key Responsibilities:

1. Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, spare parts, consumables, fuel, and equipment against delivery orders and purchase orders.

2. Maintain accurate stock records (bin cards, stock cards, logbooks, or digital records) for all items.

3. Control issuance and return of tools, rigging gear, and consumables using proper issue/return records.

4. Monitor fuel, oil, gas (oxygen/acetylene), and lubricant usage, including daily opening and closing balance records.

5. Conduct regular stock counts (daily critical items, weekly/monthly full stock take) and investigate discrepancies.

6. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and segregation of materials according to safety and operational requirements.

7. Track missing, damaged, or unreturned items and report immediately to management.

8. Coordinate with procurement for re-ordering of minimum stock items and critical spares.

9. Maintain records for calibration, inspection status, and expiry dates where applicable.

10. Ensure store area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.

11. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and consumption reports.

12. Support audits, inspections, and management reviews by providing complete and accurate records.

Position Requirements:

– Minimum SPM / Certificate or equivalent qualification.

– At least 1–3 years of experience in storekeeping, warehouse, or site store operations (construction, heavy machinery preferred).

– Basic knowledge of inventory control, stock records, and documentation.

– Able to read and understand delivery orders, purchase orders, and stock records.

– Basic computer skills (Excel or simple inventory system) are an advantage.

– Honest, disciplined, and detail-oriented, with strong sense of accountability.

– Able to work in site or workshop environments.

– Knowledge of handling fuel, gas cylinders, and hazardous materials is an advantage.
