Job Summary

The assistant manager of optics infrastructure development will be executing the Optical Network Transformation strategy set by the HOD. The individual will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of planned solution by transformation department and aligned with organizational goals.

Candidates with interest and experience in procurement, negotiation and stakeholder management skills are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Costing Evaluation: Candidate will be required to work with HOD to review all regional dark fibre project costing and spot for cost reduction & improve project delivery efficiency.
  2. Supplier Evaluation: Candidate will be required to evaluate the current project purchasing strategy and propose to improve the purchasing process with cost down & better performance.
  3. Cross Department Collaboration: Provide necessary project progress materials, organize weekly call & monthly strategy report to be share with cross department. This is to ensure all critical project progress can be delivered and understood by all stakeholders.
  4. Cross subsidiary engagement: Candidate will be required to assist in formulating engagement plan with subsidiary to obtain reliable project input. This information will be used to produce monthly report to be reviewed by HOD.
  5. Working together with Global Network Trading department strategies to interface, approach and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best pricing and costing.
  6. Maintain effective business relationship with project suppliers, establish long-term and stable cooperative relationships.
  7. Collecting relevant supplier information, study sales records and inventory levels of current projects to develop strategic purchasing programs that enable viable decision made
  8. Negotiate, or renegotiate and administer contracts/orders with suppliers and other representatives.
  9. Organize and attend regular meetings with the prospective vendors, suppliers and customers to perform buying and negotiation duties
  10. Assist your HOD in organizing meetings, trade shows, conferences, conventions and seminars to network with people in other purchasing departments
  11. Manage medium to complex projects under the supervision of HOD
