Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Design & Documentation, Technical Support

  • Develop secondary engineering design for substations (up to EHV/HV/MV levels) by ensuring the compliance with IEC, IEEE, utility, and client standards
  • Prepare protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic, and single-line diagrams & interconnection diagram.
  • AC/DC auxiliary supply systems drawing review, assignation & calculation
  • Develop necessary drawings & documents required for panel manufacturing
  • Capability in selection of protection relays and
  • overall connection for substation monitoring system, control & operation, SCADA systems, and communication system.
  • Perform primary equipment (Eg.CT/VT) sizing & calculation for protection setting & coordination.
  • Support factory routine testing and factory acceptance test

2. Technical Support

  • Review vendor drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Provide technical input during tendering, cost estimation, and proposal preparation.
  • Coordinate with primary design engineers to ensure interface compatibility between primary and secondary systems.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and resolve technical issues during project execution.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet project timelines, budgets, and technical standards.
  • Maintain awareness of the latest standards, technologies, and best practices in substation automation and protection systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Power Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years of experience in substation secondary design or a related field. However,Fresh graduates with a strong interest in electrical power system engineering are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Protection and control systems for HV/MV substations.

  • Protection Relay logic, SCADA/RTU configuration, and communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus & etc).

  • Electrical safety standards, grounding, and interlocking schemes.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for electrical drawings.

  • Familiarity with utility/client specifications and international standards (IEC/IEEE/ISO).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally for both short- and long-term assignments, meetings, and training.
