About the role

Alam Kotamas Sdn Bhd, a construction company in the Papar District of Sabah, is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanic to join our team. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy machinery and vehicles, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations at our construction site.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on a range of heavy machinery, including mobile crane, excavators, trucks and other vehicles.
  2. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
  3. Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
  4. Collaborating with the operations team to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance
  5. Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies
  6. Providing training and guidance to junior mechanics and technicians as required

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry
  2. Strong knowledge of the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and vehicles, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics
  4. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  6. Strong communication and customer service skills
  7. Certification or training in heavy equipment maintenance and repair is highly desirable
