PROJECT BUYER (MANDARIN SPEAKER)

(BASED in RAWANG, SELANGOR)

POSITION SUMMARY:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Project Buyer to join our procurement team in Rawang, Selangor.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities related to new product development and project modifications, from project launch to operational handover.
• Working closely with R&D, Quality, Industrialization, and Commodity Purchasing teams, you will optimize supplier selection, cost, quality, and delivery while ensuring compliance with social, environmental, and corporate standards.
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is essential for liaising with regional suppliers and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute project purchasing strategies aligned with company and commodity purchasing goals.
• Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, Engineering, Quality, Industrialization) to gather technical requirements and define sourcing needs.
• Conduct supplier consultations, negotiations, and contract management (NDA, development, exclusivity, materials agreements, etc.).
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, manage RFQ processes, and perform cost analyses to achieve target cost and lead-time objectives.
• Participate in supplier selection through sourcing committee processes and ensure risk assessments are completed for all new projects.
• Lead supplier design reviews, track project progress, and coordinate corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Support testing and commissioning phases by ensuring supplier readiness, capacity planning, and quality compliance.
• Manage and update purchasing data in ERP systems (SAP, Salesforce, or equivalent) to data accuracy.
• Coordinate handover of procurement activities to Commodity Buyers after the initial six month production period.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality systems, and sustainability
• commitments in all procurement activities.

QUALIFICATION

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project purchasing or strategic sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Excellent command of Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, RFQ processes, cost breakdown analysis (CBD/TCO), and supplier evaluation.
• Familiar with contract law, Incoterms, import/export procedures, and risk management.
• Proficient in ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Power BI).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with a proactive, solutions oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced project environment.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM9, RM12,000.00 per month
