Requirements:

  • SPM, Diploma in Healthcare or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer use.
  • Ability to multitask in a face-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.

Job Descriptions:

  • Receive and register patients. Guide the patient to the consultant room.
  • Assist patient to the couch/outpatient examination bed. Chaperone doctor when required.
  • Checks and records patient's vital signs and anthropometry.
  • Assist doctor during examination or procedures and when required.
  • To schedule patient's appointment and to make sure that appointment system runs smoothly.
  • To book operation cases with the Operating Theatre staff and to make sure the operation consent form has been signed by patient and the surgeon on the day of case booked.
  • To check and ensure that all forms, medical materials are essential consumables and equipment in the doctor's room are in place and ready to use.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the clinic and the counter and aware of infection control policies.
  • To ensure all medical sample (i.e. urine, blood etc) are correctly labelled and send them off to the hospital laboratory.
  • To trace and file the results of laboratory and radiology investigations.
  • To ensure not to leave the clinic counter unless she is relieved by another staff, for example staff nurse or other clinic assistant.
  • Accompany patient and patient's family members to pay bill at the cashier or to the Admission Centre if the patient is for admission.
  • To ensure all case notes are returned back to the medical record unit by 5.00 p.m. and no case notes are kept in the clinic.
  • Read, understand and comply with medical records policy.
  • To ensure all data received / heard verbally / in writing is to be kept confidential and not discussed with anyone.
  • To comply with PDPA Act.
  • Involved in staff meeting.
