Academic & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Professional membership (e.g., RISM, BQSM) is an added advantage.
2. Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within the plantation, agricultural infrastructure, estates development, or civil engineering environment.
- Experience in managing QS functions for projects such as estate infrastructure, workers' quarters, road works, drainage systems, and mechanical/electrical installations in plantation operations.
3. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, including preparation of tender documents, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and contract evaluations.
- Proficient in measurement, cost planning, variation orders, progress claims, final accounts, and project budgeting.
- Familiarity with plantation-related construction works, maintenance contracts, and agricultural support facilities.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project plans.
- Proficiency in QS software/tools (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project).
4. Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and report-writing abilities.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and estate management teams.
5. Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, evaluations, and contract recommendations for plantation development projects.
- Conduct site visits for measurement, verification, and progress monitoring.
- Review and certify contractors' claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Assist in planning and managing budgets for estate development and infrastructure works.
- Support project teams in ensuring compliance with company standards, contract terms, and regulatory requirements.
6. Other Requirements
- Willing to travel and work at plantation/estate locations when required.
- Possess a valid driving licence.
- Strong teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3, RM4,000.00 per month
