About the role
As a Sous Chef / Chef De Partie at THE BREW HOUSE, you will play a crucial role in our vibrant kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to oversee the day-to-day culinary operations. This full-time position is based in our Penang location, where you will be responsible for leading and motivating a talented team of chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the Head Chef in all kitchen-related duties, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control
- Oversee the execution of dishes, ensuring consistent high standards of taste and presentation
- Manage and train a team of chefs, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items and culinary concepts
- Optimise kitchen operations and workflows to improve efficiency and productivity
- Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef De Partie in a reputable restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Formal culinary training or a recognised chef's qualification
- Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing junior chefs
- Creativity and innovative approach to menu development and food presentation
- Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the wider team
- Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
