About the role

HSL CONSTRUCTOR SDN BHD is seeking an experienced QAQC Manager to join our team on a contract basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes for our construction projects in Pengerang, Johor. As the QAQC Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring the high standards and safety of our construction work.

What you'll be doing

• Plan, organize, manage and implement the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) systems for the whole company.
• Develop a high-performance QA/QC and Mechanical team and evaluate the team as well as individual subordinate performance.
• Assign projects individually to the respective QA/QC Inspectors for both in-house and outsource services.
• QA/QC Quality Representative for project tendering. Submit Quality Plan involved in the project during the tendering phase. Submit Inspection Test Plan and ensure all necessary procedures are explained to clients.
• Ensure all QA/QC standards are complied with stated requirements; hand over the Data Record to client upon completion of a project and ensure client satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership enable ongoing training and continuing education. For example, welder training.
• Oversee the fabrication in the workshop, control the skill and quality of the welders and ensure project schedule, costing and profit of the cost centre
• Responsible for the review, development and implementation of processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor and conduct inspection of the quality and workmanship of the sub-contractors the work process phase and completion phase of projects with clients.
• Manage project shut down by through documentation to ensure all finances closed-out; capturing lessons learned; contract closed and updates on all company process assets.
• Other additional adhoc assignment from management from time to time

What we're looking for

1. Must have a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, quality control and welding inspection work of civil, mechanical / process plants / oil terminal project, preferably in the oil & gas industry or civil/marine construction industry.
2. Proven track record of successfully implementing quality assurance and control programs for large-scale construction projects
3. Excellent knowledge of construction standards, regulations, and quality management principles
4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address quality-related challenges
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
6. Proficient in using quality control tools and software
7. Ability to work in a team environment and lead a quality assurance team
8. Knowledge civil/marine/construction machineries and equipment
9. Applicants must be willing travel/relocate to other state
