The
Head of Leasing SEA
plays a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the retail real estate strategy for the company's portfolio of brands across Malaysia and Singapore. This role is responsible for developing and delivering a robust leasing strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives, optimizing retail footprint, negotiating prime commercial locations, and driving long-term value through strategic partnerships with landlords and developers.

The incumbent will oversee the full leasing lifecycle including new store acquisitions, renewals, relocations, and exits, ensuring all decisions support commercial growth, brand positioning, and cost optimization goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the regional leasing strategy aligned with brand growth plans, including site selection, market mapping, and network optimization
  • Lead end-to-end lease negotiations for new stores, renewals, relocations, and exits to secure prime locations and favorable commercial terms
  • Monitor and manage the leasing portfolio to ensure cost efficiency, optimal space utilization, and proactive handling of lease expiries
  • Collaborate closely with retail operations, finance, legal, and brand teams to align leasing decisions with business priorities and financial objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, developers, and property partners while providing market insights and identifying new opportunities
  • Lead and develop the leasing team, ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements, and support strategic business planning with data-driven recommendations

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of leasing experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role driving multi-market expansion
  • Proven success in securing strategic sites and negotiating favorable lease terms
  • Strong network with landlords, developers, and real estate partners in Southeast Asia
  • Deep understanding of commercial models, P&L impact, and market dynamics
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • High integrity and discretion; comfortable managing confidential projects under tight timelines
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial and financial acumen
