The Sorting Center Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the sorting/distribution center. This role ensures smooth parcel processing with a focus on operational efficiency, cost control, service quality, safety, and team development.

Operational Management

  • Oversee and coordinate all sorting center activities to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure timely and accurate parcel processing to meet delivery schedules.
  • Enforce company policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to support business growth.

Process Optimization

  • Streamline sorting procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Drive standardization of processes across the center.
  • Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions where needed.

Team Leadership

  • Manage workforce planning to meet operational demand, especially during peak seasons.
  • Recruit, train, and lead sorting center teams.
  • Set KPIs, monitor staff performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Build a safe, positive, and results-oriented workplace culture.

Quality Control & Safety

  • Maintain service standards through robust quality control measures.
  • Monitor misclassification, loss, and complaints; implement preventive solutions.
  • Manage emergency situations and ensure workplace safety compliance.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
  • Maintain clear communication channels between local and international teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or sorting center operations, with 1 year in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive operational improvements and manage large teams.
  • Flexible, proactive, and results-driven.
