About the role

Pullman Kuching' is seeking an experienced Hostess to join our vibrant Chinese Restaurant team in Kuching, Sarawak. As a Hostess, you will be the friendly face of our restaurant, responsible for welcoming and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience. This is a full-time position within our Hospitality & Tourism organisation.

What you'll be doing

  1. Warmly greeting and seating guests in a timely and efficient manner
  2. Managing reservations and waitlist, ensuring smooth flow of service
  3. Providing recommendations on menu items and dining options
  4. Liaising with the kitchen and service staff to coordinate guest orders and experience
  5. Ensuring the front-of-house area is well-presented and organised at all times
  6. Handling guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy
  7. Supporting the overall operations of the Chinese Restaurant as needed

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a Hostess or similar front-of-house role in a reputable restaurant or hotel
  2. Excellent customer service skills and a warm, friendly demeanor
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with guests and team members
  4. Proficiency in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to converse fluently
  5. Familiarity with restaurant reservation systems and point-of-sale software
  6. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and public holidays
