Monitoring:

· A warehouse clerk must monitor incoming and outgoing stock for obvious faults or defects and report these to a supervisor or senior manager.

Recording

· A warehouse clerk will use his company's inventory control system to check orders against original purchase documents and ensure that shipment contents are double-checked for accuracy.

· Warehouse clerk is responsible for ensuring to ensure that un-stuffing tally sheets/put away list/picking list/pallet ids are accurate against the physical stocks. She/he is also to report to his/her superior on any issues pertaining to the operations and is able to assist his/her team to meet the operational requirements.

Liaising

· As a key part of the supply chain, a warehouse clerk typically works with drivers and other transport workers to ensure that orders are delivered.

· Also liaises frequently with customer service staff, often to give customers details of shipping times and delivery estimates.

Counts Inventory

· A warehouse inventory control clerk receives and counts items in a warehouse inventory and records the data either manually or on a computer.

Discrepancies

· Warehouse inventory clerks compare the quantities of items physically present in the warehouse to the inventory records of a warehouse.

· If finds a difference between the stock on hand and the records, investigates the discrepancy.

· If necessary, adjusts the errors in the system, under the direction of the warehouse manager.

Inventory Tagging

With guidance from the warehouse manager, also determines proper storage procedures and inventory control methods.
