Analytics Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports (Tableau experience is a huge plus)
  • Translate business requirements into metrics, KPIs, and visualisations
  • Prepare analytical datasets in collaboration with Data Engineering team
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of dashboards through data validation and reconciliation
  • Optimise dashboards for performance, usability, and stakeholder adoption
  • Document dashboard logic, refresh cycles, and business definitions
  • Assist with defining and standardising BI best practices within DataQ
  • Participate in requirement workshops, sprint sessions, and solution reviews

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL (any modern relational database or cloud warehouse)
  • Hands-on experience with at least one BI tool (Tableau preferred; Power BI, Looker acceptable)
  • Understanding of data modelling and analytic design principles
  • Strong analytical thinking and clear communication skills
  • Ability to convert business questions into structured analytical outputs
  • Junior and senior roles are both available

Nice to Have:

  • Tableau Desktop & Server experience (publishing, extracts, permissions)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Python basics for data preparation (Pandas/Polars)
  • Experience with data catalogues or metadata tools
  • Understanding of data governance practices
