JOB PURPOSE

  • Provide independent, objective assurance and consultative activities in accordance with the Audit Charter based on "The Standards for the Professional Practice Framework" as prescribed by the Institute of Internal Auditors, Regulators' requirements and any other relevant standards.
  • Perform audit reviews in accordance with the established audit objectives, scope, timeline and approach.
  • Assist in execution of the audit engagements for Affin Islamic Bank Berhad (AiBB) and shariah related audit in accordance with the approved audit plan
  • Review the adequacy of department's/division's functions, processes, infrastructures and application systems to enhance the overall governance, risk management and controls across the entities under the Group especially for AiBB.
  • Highlight relevant audit findings, risk implications, root causes and appropriate recommendations to address the control and performance gaps and document audit workings.
  • Attend to ad-hoc matters.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist SD to execute Islamic Banking audit and shariah governance audit activities of ABB Group. Assist other SDs in their audit activities as a specialist in Islamic Banking.
  • Lead and manage team members to carry out and complete the audit according to the audit objectives, established audit standards, approved Audit Plan and Audit Programs.
  • Supervise the team members and ensure that they maintain high standard of discipline and conduct in line with organisation's rules and regulations.
  • Prepare final draft Audit Report in accordance with established standards of reporting.
  • Review working papers and ensure that they are properly indexed, signed off and filed promptly.
  • Assist to develop, revise and update Audit Programs especially for Islamic Banking/shariah.
  • Corrective Action Tracking – to assist in tracking of audit findings to ensure timely rectification and full closure as well as escalating to Senior Management, GBAC, regulators of its status.
  • Participate in ad-hoc and special projects/ assignments as and when required by SD/GCIA.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Recognised Degree preferably in Shariah or Islamic Banking.
  • More than 5 years experience in internal audit functions, especially in the area of auditing Islamic Banking.
  • Certified in Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP)/ Certified Professional Shariah Auditor (CPSA).
  • Knowledgeable in internal audit, shariah governance and shariah risk management.
  • Sound Islamic products knowledge, shariah and regulatory requirements.
  • Good supervisory and management skills.
  • Analytical, inquisitive and problem solving skill.
  • Computer literate, good report writing and communication skills.
  • Possess high level of integrity.
