Marketing Content Specialist

Position Purpose:
The Content Strategist is responsible for planning, developing, and executing content strategies to support brand visibility, organic reach, lead generation, and stakeholder engagement. This position acts as the content lead to ensure consistent brand communication across all digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop monthly content strategies aligned with brand positioning and marketing objectives.
- Conduct research on digital trends, audience behavior, and competitors to support content planning.
- Prepare content outlines, scripts, and storyboards for internal production use.
Content Development & Copywriting
- Produce written content for social media postings, captions, marketing materials, and internal communication.
- Craft strategic messaging with clear hooks, value propositions, and call-to-actions.
- Ensure all messages are accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand tone.
Creative Direction
- Provide creative direction during content production, including storyboard guidance, framing recommendations, and narrative structure.
- Collaborate with the content production team to ensure final output meets expected quality
Design & Visual Communication
- Develop visual assets using Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools.
- Ensure visual communication supports conversion objectives, branding uniformity, and audience engagement.
Brand Identity Management
- Ensure consistent use of brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual identity across all platforms.
- Support the development and enhancement of internal and external brand assets.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Analyse content performance (reach, engagement, conversion indicators).
- Prepare monthly performance reports and recommend improvements based on data.
- Identify opportunities for content optimisation based on insights.
Ad-hoc & Cross-Functional Support
- Perform additional duties assigned by superiors based on operational, campaign, or organisational needs.
- Support cross-department initiatives that require marketing input.
Skills & Competency Requirements:
Technical
- Content planning and storytelling competency.
- Copywriting in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Graphic design proficiency using Canva/Photoshop.
- Basic understanding of digital analytics and insights.
Behavioural
- Creative thinking and problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven mindset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Sense of ownership and accountability.
Tools/Software Proficiency
- Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop
- Meta Business Suite / TikTok Business Centre (advantage)
- Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Basic familiarity with analytics platforms
Working Conditions
- Standard office hours with flexibility based on operational needs.
- Content shoots may require occasional after-hours or weekend availability with prior notice.
Authority & Decision-Making
- May recommend content concepts and thematic direction.
- May approve minor wording and visual adjustments in line with brand guidelines.
- Major brand changes require superior approval.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field - Relevant academic background is an advantage but not mandatory.
2. Minimum 1–2 years experience in content creation, marketing, branding, or equivalent.
3. Strong understanding content marketing, and social media marketing.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
