Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join our Data Surveillance & Data Quality workstream. With key stakeholders located in Welwyn and Basel, the ideal candidate will be located in Welwyn or within the European time zone.You will be a proactive, hands-on professional ready to make an immediate impact by architecting, building, and deploying the AI-enabled solutions that form the core concept of our intelligent data monitoring strategy. You will transform models for anomaly detection and predictive scoring into reliable, production-grade services, focusing heavily on MLOps and LLMOps pipelines to ensure continuous, high-quality data surveillance.

Core Responsibilities:

MLOps Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain the end-to-end MLOps/LLMOps pipeline for the continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and monitoring of all data quality AI models. Model Deployment & Scaling: Engineer robust, high-availability APIs and services for deploying and serving AI/ML models (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive data quality scoring) into the central data surveillance platform, ensuring performance under high data ingestion loads.

Advanced AI Integration: Utilize and integrate specialized AI tools (such as LangChain, Portkey, Galileo, and HuggingFace Transformers) to develop sophisticated data quality agents, automated error classification, and advanced data enrichment processes.Infrastructure Management: Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and IT Operations teams to manage the underlying cloud infrastructure (AWS) for scalable model serving, monitoring, and automated retraining.

Performance and Drift Monitoring: Implement comprehensive systems for monitoring model performance, detecting data and model drift, and automating the model retraining loop to maintain the accuracy of the data quality immune system.

Security & Compliance: Ensure all production AI systems are designed and implemented in adherence to internal security policies and GxP regulatory standards.

Job Requirement :

• Proven Experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or MLOps Engineer focused on production systems.
• Expertise in designing and managing scalable ML/AI workflow systems (MLOps platforms like AWS Sagemaker, Kubeflow, or MLflow).
• Expert proficiency in Python and experience building robust, documented, and tested production code.
• Strong practical experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Direct experience deploying and serving models built on Transformer architectures or LLMs using libraries like HuggingFace, or leveraging orchestration tools like LangChain.
• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (e.g., Lambda, EC2, Sagemaker).
• Solid understanding of system design, distributed computing, and data streaming concepts.
• Experience working in a regulated GxP environment within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with Pharmacovigilance (PV) processes, clinical trial data, or master data management concepts.
