Overview:
We are hiring a
Commercial Manager
to lead and drive commercial excellence, business development, and alliance management activities across Malaysia. This role plays a pivotal part in strengthening Luye Pharma's commercial footprint in the market, supporting key strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of commercial goals in alignment with the Group's regional priorities.
The Commercial Manager will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to accelerate market penetration, optimise product performance, and expand growth opportunities within the assigned therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities:-
Commercial Strategy & Execution
- Drive commercial planning, market development strategies, and execution roadmaps to strengthen product performance across Malaysia.
- Lead country-level sales forecasting, demand planning, pricing proposals, and tender management in alignment with APAC strategic directions.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities and risks, with actionable recommendations.
- Oversee implementation of sales and marketing strategies to increase market share, product adoption, and brand visibility.
Business Development & Alliance Management
- Manage existing licenses, distribution agreements, promotional partnerships, and other commercial collaborations in Malaysia.
- Evaluate new business partnerships, licensing opportunities, and product portfolio expansion based on strategic priorities.
- Ensure contractual obligations, performance milestones, and in-market targets (partner sales) are met by all external partners.
- Build collaborative working relationships with partners' teams and ensure seamless coordination for product launches and ongoing activities.
Key Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison for Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and decision-makers within public and private sectors.
- Conduct regular field visits to build market presence, enhance relationships, and support engagement initiatives.
- Develop and strengthen long-term partnerships that support business goals and expand market influence.
Operational Excellence & Reporting
- Lead and review commercial reports, sales dashboards, competitive intelligence, and monthly business summaries.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all reports such as sales forecasts, territory analysis, market updates, and management decks.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and relevant promotional codes.
- Support cross-functional teams in regulatory, supply chain, marketing, and medical affairs to ensure operational alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field; Science or Pharmacy background is an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Medical Representative with a proven track record in Sales & Marketing, Product Management, Business Development, Strategic Planning, or Alliance Management in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market insights, and commercial trends.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in tender management, marketing excellence, or commercial strategy development is beneficial.
- Self-driven, resourceful, and able to work independently with strong multitasking capability.
- High level of professional ethics, business acumen, problem-solving skills, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Positive energy, strong customer focus, and a growth mindset aligned with Luye's commercial excellence standards.

- This position reports directly to the VP, APAC.
- Two rounds of interviews: First round: Online interview with Human Resources & Final round: Onsite interview with VP, APAC at the KL office
