Job Summary

The Senior Accounts General Ledger Executive is responsible for overseeing the accuracy of the general ledger, performing advanced reconciliations, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring smooth month-end and year-end closing. This role also provides guidance to junior accounting staff and supports internal controls and audit activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and intercompany adjustments.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing queries.
  • Review transactions posted by junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS/GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
  • Work closely with AP, AR, Payroll, and other departments to ensure data integrity.

*Preferably with experience in the Food & Beverage industry, and familiarity with Navision and SAP is a plus.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar roles.
  • Experience in month-end closing and financial reporting.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, advanced formulas).
  • Excellent analytical and reconciliation abilities.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
