What You'll Do

Software Developer:

1. Take part in the design and development of automation programs, focusing on tools and machines in the semiconductor industry.
2. Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to understand existing manual processes and devise automated solutions.
3. Deploy and test automation software on-site, working closely with customer teams to ensure smooth operation.
4. Be part of continuous innovation by integrating AI, RPA, and remote-control technologies into automation systems.

Senior Software Developer:

1. Break down complex manufacturing problems, propose technical approaches, and architect modular, scalable solutions for evolving shop-floor requirements.
2. Lead core development in Python (3.x), applying advanced techniques (Asyncio, multithreading, functional programming) while building clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
3. Handle system integration and deployment by interfacing with industrial equipment (REST, WebSocket, MQTT, custom protocols), containerizing applications with Docker, and collaborating through Git for reliable releases.
4. Drive innovation by integrating advanced analytics and AI tools, such as LLMs or automation agents, and developing effective retrieval, prompt, or rule-based strategies.
5. Ensure high quality through comprehensive testing, simulation environments, and troubleshooting with clear root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in Penang, Malaysia without the need for a work pass or visa sponsorship.
• Minimum Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills; English proficiency is required, and Chinese communication skills are preferred for interacting with clients from China.
• Proficiency in Python with experience in RPA, remote control tools, and virtualization (KVM).
• Familiarity with Databases, Docker, Git, APIs, and message queues.
• Experience in AI or machine learning, including frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or LLM fine-tuning, is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience in semiconductor processes or deploying automation in industrial environments is a plus.

Senior Role Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience, primarily using Python, with demonstrated ability to design, implement, and deliver complex automation solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset; able to work through uncertainty, ask the right questions, and drive solutions to completion.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively with Data Science or computer vision teams to implement algorithmic components in production.
