PURPOSE

• Have overall responsibility for supporting FWD  Database Infrastructure  from design through implementation, ongoing management and support.

• Provides investigation, diagnostic testing and resolution of Database System.

• Assist on New Business Unit Build-up.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Act as the Database team member for management and support of FWD IT Database system, services availability, capacity and 7x24 hours support.

• Carry out database system maintenance including troubleshooting, performance monitoring and tuning.

• Support regional financial system implementation (IFRS17).

• Design DB architecture and capacity planning of regional projects.

• Establish Database System infrastructure standard on compliance and security.

• Review existing DB infrastructure and manage enhancement/improvement plans.

• Design and manage DR Drill and BCP processes.

• Stay abreast of emerging cloud database technologies, trends, and industry best practices.

• Monitor and manage costs associated with cloud database usage and recommend optimizations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions that align with cloud best practices

• Service Level Management – Database service availability in accordance with Service targets, and management of incidents.

• Implement IT Projects and Support Existing Business Units.

• Support New Business Unit Build-up & other Group Initiatives.

• Compliance to IT Risk & Security policies.

• Operation Task Management.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Degree holder in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent with more than 7 years of database administration experience gained in sizable organization.

• Holder of professional qualification(s) preferred e.g. Microsoft SQL, Oracle and Cloud DB certificate.

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• At least 8-10 hands-on experience in database administration with MS SQL 2012/2016, Oracle, IBM CDC and ETL.

• Hands-on experience in database projects, capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, database monitoring, data replication and database encryption. Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies is desirable. 

• Proficient in database design and problem solving of database problem.

• Able to work independent, self-motivated and willing to take challenges.

• Able to communicate with colleagues and vendors at different levels.

• Able to manage database system projects.

• Good command of written English, fluent in spoken English. 

• Willingness to learn new IT Technology.
