About the role

Join the dynamic team at Furs & Paws Veterinary Clinic as a full-time Veterinary Assistant. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to our experienced veterinary professionals, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality care to our beloved animal patients.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Performing basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and collecting samples
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including sterilising equipment and restocking supplies
• Providing compassionate care and comfort to patients, as well as offering support and information to their owners
• Handling and restraining animals during procedures, ensuring the safety of both the patient and the veterinary team
• Maintaining accurate medical records and client communication
• Participating in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve your skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

• A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing excellent patient care
• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar animal healthcare role, preferably in a small animal practice
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with both clients and patients
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate medical records
• A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn and grow within the veterinary field
