Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Vice President of Software Engineering at MindHive. The VP of Software Engineering will be responsible for overseeing software development, IT strategy, product management, and architecture. This is a hybrid role located in Subang Jaya, but some remote work is acceptable.

Strategic Leadership

  • Defining Engineering Strategy: Architect solutions and define engineering strategies that align with business objectives, staying ahead of market and technology trends, and understanding the competitive landscape to give our company an edge.
  • Budget Management: Oversee budgeting for server infrastructure, software/service licenses, and internal team member certifications/improvements, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Team Management: Structure and optimize the team combination by project requirements and delegate tasks/projects effectively.

Operations and Delivery

  • Project Management: Ensure that development projects are on track, within budget, and meet all requirements.
  • Architecture: Streamline and review technology, framework, model, and tool use; architect infrastructure focusing on scalability, privacy, cost efficiency, and ease of management.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high-quality development output, ensuring adherence to best practices in code structure, maintainability, performance, and comprehensive testing methodologies.
  • Security and Performance: Build solutions with essential security measures, including data pipeline security, access management, and infrastructure security, while ensuring optimal performance through resource allocation and active monitoring.

Communications and Collaborations

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Serve as a bridge between the technical team and other company divisions, aligning communications and expectations among all stakeholders.

Innovation and Growth

  • Research and Development: Lead R&D efforts to explore new technologies, methodologies, or business opportunities.
  • Growth Planning: Collaborate with the CTO and other stakeholders to plan for employee growth in technological and soft skills beneficial to both the individual and the company.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior engineering management role within a high-tech, fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of AI, machine learning technologies, and software engineering principles.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor medium to large engineering teams.
  • Proficient in budget management, project management, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication skills, with expertise in aligning cross-departmental efforts and stakeholder management.
