Data Analytics Specialist

As part of the Operations team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization's data infrastructure, including databases, data pipelines, and data storage solutions. This country-level role will be expected to collaborate with other corporate functions in IHH MY, particularly the IT team, and 16 hospitals to develop and maintain the systems and infrastructure that enable the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of large volumes of healthcare data. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare data engineering and will be passionate about designing efficient and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end analytic solutions from understanding business requirements, data discovery, and extraction, to model development and evaluation, and collaborate and work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business outcomes. Also execute exploratory data analysis to answer business questions and inform business decisions, identify data sources, and provision data into the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Conduct training/presentation to end-users on new reports/KPIs and dashboards, partner with and support users in other internal teams to develop and deliver data science solutions to further value-add in performance/audit reviews. Also, ensure compliance with data governance and best practices and standards set forth by bank policies and requirements. Also prepare and maintain documentation for data collection, management, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain ETL processes to move data from various sources into the organization's data warehouse and deliver insights through BI reports.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements from various departments to develop effective BI solutions that meet business needs.
  • Design, build, and maintain the organization's data infrastructure and reporting, including databases, data pipelines, and BI reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Timely implementation of planned initiatives.
  • Follow data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality and security.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, conduct data-driven analysis, and develop relevant BI reports.
  • Build consensus with subject matter experts and agree on the number and scope of projects in each hospital and business unit.

Job Requirement

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, information technologies, or related fields with 5-10 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data visualization, and data analysis.
  • Experience in the healthcare or service industry is an advantage
  • Experience with developing data pipelines using ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Talend Studio, or Oracle Data Integrator.
  • Excellent command of SQL and fluent in PowerBI DAX.
  • Experience working with large datasets, and well-versed in structured and semi-structured data.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with cloud computing services on at least one of the major cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, or OCI.
  • Proficient in designing BI reports with at least one of the industry-standard BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other equivalent data visualization tools.
  • Proficient in designing, developing, modeling, and documenting data models and BI reports.
  • Ability to support complex cross-functional initiatives and implementation of change in a results-orientated environment.
