Job Summary:

To be part of the dynamic IFRS17 team, where you will support and participate in the transition to IFRS17 BAU activities and ongoing finance activities.

Job Description:

  • Leverage automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources to support IFRS 17 financial closings, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Perform and support the reconciliation of IFRS 17 reporting system outputs, ledger postings, and related IFRS 17 accounts reconciliation.
  • Participate in the maintenance of databases and improving functionality of data systems outputs, which includes organising data in a readable format.
  • Support the data management process, which includes resolving corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems.
  • Monitor actual data loads, perform data sanity checks generated by IFRS 17 reporting systems, and establish processes to ensure data completeness and integrity.
  • Work with programmers, engineers, and work stream leads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise steps to improve data quality as part of data governance.
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Be accountable for considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlight any potential concerns and risks and proactively share the best risk management practices.


Job Specification:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, Insurance, or Takaful discipline.
  • Possessing a professional qualification in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 1 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Good sense of urgency and ability to deliver within tight timelines.
  • Good communication skills-written and verbal.
  • Good coordination skills.
  • Analytical thinking, interpersonal skills, and proactiveness.
  • Good knowledge in financial transaction processing, information gathering, and analysis.
  • High level of integrity, accountability in work, and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
  • Initiative to improve the current state of things and adaptability to embrace new changes.
  • Result-driven.
  • Good knowledge in Oracle Systems and Microsoft Excel VBA is an added advantage.
  • IT literate and well versed in Microsoft Office.
