The incumbent is accountable for supervising a team of Line Leaders and/or Production Assistants to achieve objectives such as quality, yield, productivity, and cycle time.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise, train and motivate a team of Line Leaders and/or Production Assistants to achieve daily objectives such as quality, yield, productivity, and cycle time.
  2. Communicate changes in processes and procedures directly to the team and monitor to ensure compliance.
  3. Ensure discipline and safety procedures are enforced in the work areas.
  4. Ensure smooth changeover of shift by providing and receiving feedback on production issues from the other supervisors.
  5. Provide timely feedback to immediate superiors on production activities.
  6. Overall Person-In-Charge of the line. Take initiative and work with relevant parties to ensure equipment are always in production mode.
  7. Escalate if the equipment is to be used for other purposes than production.
  8. Initiate a re-capture of lots when quality issues arise.
  9. Manpower planning to meet shift performance/target/manpower deployment for the critical process.
  10. Review WIP report to meet cycle time (CT) / on-time delivery.
  11. Material planning/inventory management.
  12. 5S implementation and enforcement.
  13. Enforce compliance to standard operating procedures and procedures (out-of-control action plan).
  14. Work closely with support groups on production matters.
  15. Prepare neat and accurate reports on output.

People Management:

  1. Lead a group of people in daily briefing sessions (DBS).
  2. Prepare shift performance reports and updates.
  3. Address Line Leader and/or Production Assistant welfare and grievances accordingly (always seek a win-win solution).
  4. Handle disciplinary issues (minor misconduct) of the production team, including issuance of warning letters / Corrective Action Notices (CAN) when necessary and submission to HR within 14 days.
  5. Handle disciplinary issues (major misconduct) of the production team by raising Incident Reports on major misconduct to HR for further action and submitting it to HR within 14 days.
  6. Coordinate cross-training for operators and ensure proper usage of materials.

Quality Accountability:

  1. Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures and specifications.
  2. Verify and recapture abnormalities/defects.
  3. Address or escalate subordinate feedback.
  4. Execute, monitor, track, and follow up changes/quality performance.
  5. Communicate the quality alert to operators/technicians/quality assurance and pass information to other shifts.
  6. Perform any other duties assigned by immediate superior.

Job Requirements:

  1. Diploma in Electrical and Engineering and preferably with supervisory experience.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  4. Knowledge of using computers and/or smart devices.
  5. Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
