Primary Objective:

  • Acts as a single point of contact and serves as a consultant & business partner to assigned business/functional unit/ strategic & tactical advisory & support on human resources related issues that reflects HR objectives of the organization.
  • Supports the PBP lead by assessing and anticipating HR related needs, highlighting business trends in specific business, identifying any sensitive employee relations that arise or HR issues which need to be considered and factored into strategic and tactical advisory & support on HR related issues.
  • Formulates a partnership across HR functions/ specialist to ensure the delivery of integrated and value added solutions across the assigned portfolio.
  • Builds a strong business relationship, facilitating the Implementation of key and effective HR initiatives and practices across the Group
  • Maintains an effective level of business literacy of the assigned business/ functional unit's financial positions, its plans, culture and competitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides and support consistent interpretation and application of HR policies, procedures and guidelines as they relate to HR services, processes and programs across the Group.
  • Ensures broad HR Parameters and budget are complied with.
  • Provides appropriate first level advice, guidance and support to business/ functional unit on all HR areas such as organization design, talent acquisition, talent & performance management, employee relations, engagement, change management.
  • Advices business, in consultation with the PBP Lead, on all promotion, application of rewards, compensation and any salary related matters to ensure reflection of competencies, potential and comparability with like roles across the business/ functional unit and Group in line with organization’s aspiration of high performance culture.
  • Supports and provides guidance to line managers in relation to their approach and consideration of people issues ensuring that they understand the impact of these on the individual and the business
  • Consults with management, in partnership with PBP Lead and where necessary HR specialist, on issues affecting morale, performance, development and organization effectiveness, helping determine root causes and recommending appropriate next steps.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance to business/ functional managers on people management (eg coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions) using RHB ‘s policies, procedures and best practice
  • Partners with HR specialist and key stakeholders within assigned business/ functional units to appropriately communicate, deliver and actively manage the implementation of proactive HR solutions, plans, projects and initiatives to meet business needs
  • Acts as Change Agent in Managing Organizational change where this relates to HR activities such as restructuring, voluntary exit schemes, implementation of new compensation and reward structures
  • Supports the PBP Lead in all areas of HR and ensures that PBP Lead is made aware of any sensitive employee relations issues that arise as appropriate.
  • Carrying out such other duties as may be reasonably requested by the management

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the HR function of a large or complex organization
  • Effective collaboration, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Good knowledge of end-to-end HR products and business operations to facilitate the implementation of respective HR initiatives and priorities
  • Good problem solving skills to facilitate the removal of HR related obstacles to support the needs of the respective business/functional heads
  • Strong execution and follow through skills in executing related HR products and provide timely support
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to land a balance between the request from business/employees and the expectation of management/employer
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and deal with difficult situations and personalities.
