Objectives of the Position
At the BASF Digital Hub Kuala Lumpur, we develop innovative digital solutions for BASF, create exciting customer experiences and business growth, and drive efficiencies in processes, helping to strengthen BASF´s position as the digital leader in the chemical industry. Main Tasks
You will be part of different DevOps teams that develop solutions for chemists and biologists in R&D and in close interaction with external suppliers You support and advise our partners on complex IT application issues as well as on the digitization and automation of laboratory processes. You will actively participate in the development, support and maintenance of Java applications for our R&D partners and solution landscape. You provide support diagnosis and fixes via telephone and on-line remote access to LIMS systems as required as well as product training classes You assist the implementation teams from time to time in setting up customer environments, rolling out of new application builds as well as support and conduct application testingRequirements
Education
Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology, or related disciplineWorking Experience
At least 3 years of practical experience in the support of IT systems in the laboratory area; LIMS system in particular. Experience with other laboratory system(s) is a plusTechnical&ProfessionalKnowledge (Mandatory)
You have at least 3 years of practical experience in the support of IT systems in the laboratory area. LabVantage LIMS is a must You have experience in LIMS implementation or upgrade project You have experience in supporting laboratory instrument interface for simple and complex instruments (e.g. CDS systems) You should be able to gather requirements from different lab owners and able to connect it to functionality of LabVantage LIMS You should be able to offer modifications to the technical configuration and business process in order to achieve desired outcome of project/customer requirements You have experience in Labelling and Reporting Tools (Preferably Jasper Report) You have experience in Java, J2EE, Java script and web application development You have experience in SQL/Oracle database (Queries, Procedures, Triggers, View creation, etc) You have a good understanding of common Ticketing tools (e.g. JIRA, ServiceNow) and ITIL support process such as Request Fulfilment, Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management You proactively solve issues which are logged in the ticketing tool You can assimilate and analyze information and provide solutions to a diverse range of queries You are willing to adapt to changes to technology and learn new technology/application on demand. You are available during Weekend Patch activity, on demand You document the issue and keep knowledge base updated You update application document regularly and apply necessary changes You value user satisfaction driven by excellent user experience You feel comfortable talking to end users and empathizing with their needs You have a growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve to foster a positive and energized culture You are a team player with collaborative mindset, willing share knowledge across the team You thrive working as part of a remote and global team Your English communication skills, both spoken and written are very goodTechnical&ProfessionalKnowledge (Additional)
Good understanding of application server (e.g. JBoss); experience working with Linux or Windows-based software packages and tools. Knowledge in the support of Microsoft and Linux OS client and server systems. Knowledge in system interface with ERP systems such as SAP Experience in managing end to end project delivery Experience in process mapping, gap analysis and driving improvements Knowledge of working in regulated environments (e.g., GLP, GMP, ISO)As one of the world’s largest chemical companies, BASF is on a mission to create chemistry with a sustainable future.
