ACCOUNTABILITIES /KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning & Process Improvement
  • Improve the department's standard operating procedures and process flow, including but not limited to making system automation easier.
  • Improve the level and quality of service in line with the company's goals.
  • Deliver and build the right Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the facility.
Keep an eye on how well these KPIs are being met, and make sure that the schools are getting this information.
  • Managing budgets for building upkeep and making sure they are cost effective.
Building & Facilities Operational
  • Ensure that all daily building operations, including maintenance service (air conditioners), electrical (switches), cabling, lighting, and temperature, are correctly maintained and accessible at all times.
  • Liaise with the appropriate authorities regarding permits, insurance, licences, etc.
for operations, property maintenance, safety, and security.
  • Monitor and evaluate all contracts and agreements with contractors, vendors, suppliers, and consultants for all building maintenance, cleansing, security, and safety related tasks.
  • Ensure that all service contractor agreements and local government licences are in place and current.
  • Provide effective and expeditious support services, such as dispatch, drivers, and other logistics, when required.
  • Provide support cross functional activities and facility operation team during emergency operation and restoration.
  • Perform routine inspection on general housekeeping for all equipment and rooms.
  • Ensure active participation as a member of OSH.
Staff Management and Manpower Planning
  • Assign tasks to subordinates; guide, supervise, and assist subordinates in completing personal and departmental goals.
  • Responsible for motivating department personnel, organising training, providing work guidance, and evaluating performance; motivating subordinates, and focusing on overall quality improvement.
  • Carry out daily team management work, form an efficient reporting mechanism, and ensure information is transmitted timely and accurately.
Other
  • Report immediately to the Supervisor if there are any accidents or issues with the company properties, vehicle, goods, etc.
  • Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Building Engineering / Quantity
  • Surveying / Estate Management / Town Planning or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years working experience in established organization, preferably in education environment.
  • At least 2 years working as a facilities manager or in a similar role.
  • Excellent project management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Possess a valid certificate of Chargeman from Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
