Job Purpose.

As an Assistant Manager, the role is to support Prasarana Financial Reporting section in the preparation of month end Company Accounts and the Year End Audited Financial Statements are in compliance with the Company's Policies and Procedures and in accordance with the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards ("MFRS") and facilitate in the Company Tax exercise (Corporate Tax, SST, WHT, etc.).

Key Accountabilities.

  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly and year end accounts with accurate detailed General Ledger and Trial Balance, lead Income Statement and Balance Sheet schedules in delivering correct and reliable financial report on timely basis and to facilitate the Group Reporting consolidation processes.
  • Prepare, check and monitor of the monthly income statement and perform variance analysis in identifying and reporting the reasons and explanations for the fluctuations to the management.
  • Review, check and monitor the monthly detailed balance sheet listing, ageing balances and intercompany balances to ensure correct variance are identified and reconciled and to provide the analysis and explanations for the fluctuations.
  • Oversee and perform accounting transactions in SAP including general ledger (GL) journals on accruals, impairments, accretions, MFRS, etc. in producing monthly accounts and year end audited financial statements.
  • Assist in preparation of the company's budget, budget revision exercise, rolling forecasts and cashflow projections in Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and analysis through close liaison with the respective business units and relevant authorities in aiding the Group Treasury Reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all supporting documents are available for each transaction (i.e. Agreement, PO, DO, Management Paper, BOD Paper, etc.), including the drafting of relevant papers for the management's approval in compliance with the Company's policies and audit requirements.
  • Work closely together with the VP II and SVP of Prasarana Financial Reporting and the Auditor to prepare the year end audit schedules and draft the Year End Audited Financial Statements in accordance with the MFRS and to be completed within the reporting timeline for the Audit Committee (AC) and The Board of Directors (BOD) financial performance review.
  • Verify SST transactions and reconcile the tax payable as per the GL is correct for the Tax Team to liaise with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) for the SST02 Form submission on bi-monthly basis.
  • Work closely with the Tax team in computing the 6th/9th month tax corporate revision and to prepare the tax schedules for the company's annual corporate tax return and deferred taxation for the audited financial statements.
  • Keep abreast with the accounting policies, regulations and legislations, monitor and review work processes and internal controls in suggesting improvements and working with other departments in identifying issues and providing recommendations.
  • Perform any other related assignments in facilitating and supporting Prasarana Financial Reporting section and the Company as and when required by the management.

Qualifications.

  • Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or MIA membership or equivalent (is preferred)
  • Minimum five (5) years' of relevant working experience in accounting and management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Audit experience from the Big 4 firms is an added advantage.

Technology Knowledge.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office primarily in Excel, Words and PowerPoint
  • Good working knowledge and hands on experience in SAP and ERP systems.
