Job Scope

  • Assist in executing and complementing the business lines operational risk management activities and perform independent review of processes and functions at operating level.
  • Execute the Operational Risk Management Framework, Policies and Guidelines, methodologies and processes.
  • Maintain an effective and consistent department level Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Operational Risk Key Risk Indicators (OR KRI) and Operational Loss Incident Management (IM) processes covering guideline, workshop, training and facilitated processes in line with the Corporation's Operational Risk Management Policy.
  • Coordinate the periodic RCSA review and facilitate Business Units with risk identifications and establishment of additional mitigation plans (where required) as well as to appropriately challenge the robustness of RCSA outcome assessed by Business Units for reporting to the Management and Board Level Committees. Provide guidance to Business Units on the reporting of Operational Loss Incidents in terms of identification of chronology of events, root cause analysis, implementation of necessary corrective and preventive actions to ensure future occurrence of similar events can be mitigated.
  • Maintain the Operational Loss Event Database to monitor and track Operational Risk financial and nonfinancial loss incidents by appropriately challenge and assess the root cause(s) and where required, to propose the necessary additional controls / mitigation actions to minimise operational losses for deliberation in the Incident Management (IM) reporting escalated to the Management and Board Level Committees.
  • Coordinate the KRI results submission by Business Units as well as to collate and analyse the statistical information requiring escalation to Management or Board Level Committees for decision making and notification, respectively. Facilitate periodic KRI review exercise and responsible for the collating and reporting of the progress for the approved KRI mitigation / action plans on periodic basis. Followup, monitor and track mitigation actions relating to operational loss incidents as well as action plans established from risk assessments exercise and triggers on key risk indicators till completion.
  • Prepare periodic reports on Operational Risk exposures for Management and Board Level Committees.
  • Conduct trainings, workshops and information sessions to build up an Operational Risk Management (ORM) culture within the Corporation.
  • Assume responsibility of other relevant tasks as assigned from time to time, i.e. attend to internal / external audit finding response, participate in the annual Approving Authority Review, conduct project / product risk assessment, preparation of Risk Management articles, execution of Operational Risk Scenario Analysis Workshop, etc.
  • Job Requirement
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Experience in the field of Operational Risk / Enterprise Risk / Internal Audit / IT risk preferably in the financial industry. Experience performing strategic and financial risk, or IT risk will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge : Knowledge of Basel Accord, BNM regulations, ORM system, BCM
  • Skills/ Competencies : Analytical and innovative thinking abilities, and has the drive and perseverance to inculcate a sound risk management culture. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good report writing skills. Matured, independent and possess high degree of ethics and integrity.
