Our client is a well-respected interior design firm seeking a dynamic, outgoing, and positive individual with a keen eye for exceptional design to join our client's team as a Business Development Manager. In this role, you will be answering to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for driving business growth and diversifying our client base to secure the future and growth of our organization.
This role demands flexibility, innovative thinking, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to oversee at a strategic level while diving into hands-on productivity when deadlines approach.

They require to formulate the annual marketing plan and budget and have this approved by the Board. Implement this plan with the agreed annual budget in conjunction with higher staff members.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement growth strategies and plans.
  • Manage and retain relationships with existing clients.
  • Expand client base by obtaining information on potential prospects and building relationships with key market information providers.
  • Achieve the company's annual sales targets.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of our business products and value propositions.
  • Write compelling business proposals and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Identify and map business strengths and customer needs.
  • Research new business opportunities and viable income streams.
  • Draft and review contracts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and collections.
  • Prepare variation orders and additional claims, keeping abreast of all financial aspects of a project.
  • Report on successes and areas needing improvement.
  • Develop and execute the annual marketing plan and budget, securing Board approval.
  • Implement the marketing plan within the agreed annual budget, in conjunction with senior staff members.
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date marketing materials and databases.
  • Formulate and implement pre- and post-bid strategies.
  • Lead the study and understanding of RFPs, tender documents, etc., for submission preparation.
  • Ensure high standards of marketing material and submissions across the company.
  • Provide exceptional client servicing.
  • Continuously improve marketing collaterals and company services to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information, pre- and post-contract projects, and any other confidential information of the company at all times.
  • Follow industry trends locally and internationally.
  • Play an active role as a mentor and manager, focused on constantly improving internal functions for the betterment of the company.
  • Undertake thorough research to keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in the industry.
  • Attend industry functions and be recognized as a key member of the company.
  • Be known by clients, suppliers, staff, and contacts as competent, professional, knowledgeable, honest, and reflective of the corporate face of the company.
  • Effectively negotiate and resolve conflicts.
  • Self-motivate and lead a team.
  • Take on the role of department head with the objective to grow the department.
  • Formulate a marketing strategy based on the client's brief, company background, preferences, budget, and competitors involved.
  • Develop marketing solutions that are responsive to the strategic, financial, and time planning of prospective projects.
  • Market the company's services as a specialist solutions provider and raise the company's reputation for design excellence, including preparation of bid submissions and presentations for securing new projects.
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by management.
