Job Summary


Design, lead and implement fitness programmes or classes that are engaging, challenging, and safe for all participants as well as providing personalized fitness consultations, and create engaging workout routines tailored to the needs of the diverse employees.

The Fitness Instructor will also be responsible for maintaining fitness equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe workout environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement fitness programmes that cater to the needs and interests of all employees.
  • Plan and lead group fitness classes, such as yoga, Zumba, cardio, strength training and any other suitable/relevant programme.
  • Demonstrate proper exercise techniques ensuring safety precautions are followed during workouts always.
  • Proactively, provide oneonone fitness consultations to employees as required and provide modifications for different fitness levels and abilities.
  • Offer nutritional guidance and lifestyle recommendations to support employees' overall health and wellness.
  • Manage inventory and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available for workouts.
  • Maintain a clean and organised fitness studio, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and sanitized.
  • Stay informed about current fitness trends, techniques, and certifications to continually improve and enhance services offered.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, addressing employees' inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • All employees are expected to demonstrate a flexible approach in the delivery of work within their department. They are required to be proactive members of the team and work closely with all other members to ensure both timely and best outcomes are achieved for all stakeholders. To support this approach, all employees may be required to work with external and internal partners, work across formal lines of accountability and perform duties not specifically identified in the job description but which are in line with the general level of responsibility of the post.

Person Specifications

Education & Qualification

  • Certified Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor through a recognised accrediting organisation
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate company or department activities as needed.

Relevant Experience & Years of Service

  • Previous experience leading fitness classes and working with diverse expectations.
  • Experience with fitness equipment and knowledge of safety protocols.

Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and exercise science principles.
  • Ability to create and implement safe and effective fitness programmes to accommodate employees with varying fitness levels.
  • Enthusiasm for health, fitness, and helping others achieve their wellness goals.
  • Professional demeanour and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with all levels of employees.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
