Role Purpose:


As the Data Privacy and Compliance Officer at LUXASIA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's adherence to data privacy regulations across the diverse markets we operate in.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust processes, policies, and systems to safeguard sensitive information, aligning with both legislative mandates and the requirements of our esteemed brand principals.

Reporting to the regional Head of Consumer Experience and Retail Excellence, you will be a key advocate for data protection and privacy within the organization.


Requirements:

  • Develop and lead the data privacy and compliance strategy, ensuring its alignment with regional and global requirements while considering the unique needs of each market.
  • Review, update, and create data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure they remain current and effective.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to assess and enhance existing systems, practices, and technologies to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Oversee data breach incident response plans, ensuring timely and appropriate actions are taken in case of data security incidents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and compliancerelated matters.
  • Design and deliver data privacy training and awareness programs to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor changes in data protection regulations and evolving industry standards, and proactively adapt the organization's practices to stay compliant.
  • Collaborate with legal and external consultants as needed to interpret and implement complex legal requirements.

Stakeholders Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Head of Consumer Experience and Retail Excellence, to align data privacy efforts with overall business strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to regulatory adherence and risk mitigation.
  • Engage with IT and Technology teams to evaluate and implement necessary technical measures to enhance data protection.
  • Partner with HR (Talent & Excitement) to ensure employee training programs effectively communicate data privacy best practices and compliance obligations.
  • Liaise with brand teams/prinicipals to align data protection requirements with their specific guidelines and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Country Managers and teams to ensure consistent implementation of data privacy measures across all markets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Business, Information Security, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Professional certifications in data protection and privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) are highly desirable.
  • 10 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or related roles, preferably in a multinational or retail/distributor environment.
  • Strong understanding of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PDPA) and their practical implications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Proven track record of implementing
