Inventory Control Specialist - Malaysia

Position Overview:
Inventory Control Specialist is a critical member of the plant engineering and operations teams.

This role is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, reviewing order requests, communicating with vendors, restocking items, organizing supply rooms, keeping accurate inventory records, training new employees, addressing inventory discrepancies of the site.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing stock as needed. Developing and implementing inventory control systems and practices. Assessing inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity. Investigating and correcting discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories. Preparing weekly, monthly and annual spare part usage inventories and reports. Liaising and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality of stock purchases.

Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy.

Maintaining adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand with 100% service level. File claims with supplier or vendor when defective products are discovered.

Perform process and system testing and track performance by area to locate and solve problems in data integrity, productivity, and efficiency.

Responsible for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. And lead others in safe work practices, especially when in a distribution center environment. Train other employees in asset inventory management. Establish trusted relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service and cost-effective deals. Ability to respond in a dynamic and fast-growing environment. Ability to be independent and self-motivated. Plan tasks and provide significant contributions to the team. Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines. Maintain a cGMP compliant environment and operate within FDA guidelines. Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in related field. 1-2 years of working experience for spare parts management or warehouse management.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and data analytics tools Process oriented and uses data to make decisions.

Demonstrated success using problem solving methodologies such as A3, PDCA, DMAIC, etc. Ability to fulfill job responsibilities in a fast-paced/high-volume production environment.

Physical Requirements:


Required to stand up to 75% of working time per shift, with walking up to 50% of working time per shift.

Able to work off shifts (nights/weekends) as needed, 10% max.
