Director - Business Development

Purpose Statement: Responsible for creating strategies to meet business development targets by selling solutions. This role involves achieving revenue goals for sector or regional accounts, using professional sales techniques to attract new business.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Coach, influence, and advise Plexus cross-functional teams to enhance business win rates.
- Identify and validate profitable business opportunities fitting Plexus strategy.
- Collaborate with market sector team to prioritize market development efforts.
- Establish relationships with external customers and Plexus teams.
- Stay informed about market sector trends to inform business development.
- Develop strategies to win business and benefit Plexus and its customers.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting customer needs.
- Execute Plexus' Best People strategy and drive employee development.
Additional Accountabilities:
- Follow-up on leads promptly.
- Record sales activities using CRM tools.
- Report on high-level opportunities.
- Support potential customers' daily needs.
- Attend necessary training to be a proficient sales professional.
- Assist in trade shows as required.
- Travel as needed (around 50%).
- Perform other assigned duties.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Post-Graduate or Master's degree preferred.
- Eight years of related experience preferred.
- Experience in electronics or engineering design environment is a plus.
Other Qualifications:
- Must maintain objectivity, possess proactive problem-solving skills, and make effective recommendations.
- Proven ability to influence, resolve conflicts, negotiate, and demonstrate leadership competencies.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with general office equipment and materials.
