Position Overview:
The Housekeeping assistant will assist the housekeeping team in maintaining cleanliness, order, and sanitation throughout the property. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in hospitality and housekeeping services.
The trainee will learn and practice various tasks under the guidance of experienced staff members, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are kept in pristine condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Room Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Assist in cleaning guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Replenish guest supplies, such as toiletries and towels.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor
Public Area Upkeep:
- Help maintain cleanliness in public areas, such as lobbies, corridors, and restrooms.
- Ensure that public areas are free of debris and well-presented at all times
Laundry and Linen Handling:
- Assist with the collection, sorting, and distribution of linens.
- Learn proper handling and storage techniques for linens and other cleaning supplies
Inventory Management:
- Help with the inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to the supervisor.
- Assist in stocking and organizing housekeeping carts
Safety and Hygiene:
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming
Guest Interaction:
- Provide courteous and professional service to guests, addressing any inquiries or requests promptly.
- Report lost and found items to the supervisor
Training and Development:
- Participate in training sessions to learn housekeeping procedures, safety guidelines, and customer service skills.
- Seek feedback from supervisors and colleagues to improve performance
Qualifications:
SPM No prior experience required, though experience in a similar role is an advantage. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
