KEY RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Manager of Advertising and Sponsorship Sales to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth through digital advertising and sponsorship sales, developing and maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to create compelling advertising solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets for digital advertising and sponsorship sales.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential advertisers and sponsors.
  • Create tailored advertising solutions that meet client needs and align with VIU's content and audience.
  • Creative thinking.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their business objectives and provide strategic advice on digital advertising solutions.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication and delivery of promised services.

Campaign Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of advertising campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the marketing, content, and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of advertising content.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and provide regular reports to clients with insights and recommendations for improvement.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with the sales team to share knowledge, strategies, and insights to drive collective success.
  • Mentor and support team members, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
  • Being active in internal cross-functional meetings and projects, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities and challenges.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Provide actionable insights based on market analysis to inform business decisions.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital advertising sales, preferably within the media or entertainment industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising platforms, technologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in business administration or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of the media and entertainment industry, particularly in the context of streaming services.
  • Established network of contacts within the advertising and media industry in Malaysia.
  • Understanding of the Malaysian market, including consumer behaviour, regulatory environment, and key industry players.
  • Ability to develop innovative advertising solutions that capture the attention of the target audience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented approach to managing campaign timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to resolving issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Ability to anticipate client needs and provide strategic recommendations to enhance their advertising campaigns.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and client needs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in English and Malay. Additional language skills relevant to the Malaysian market are a plus.
  • Active participation in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships and stay informed about industry trends.
